The Process

Hand-lasted on original wooden forms pulled from shuttered factories in Vigevano.

Every last in our workshop was retired from production when the factory closed. We acquired them in 2019 — twelve crates of beech wood lasts, each stamped with a size, a style number, and sometimes a maker's initials in pencil.

We use them the way they were designed to be used: stretched over them slowly, pulled taut, nailed, left overnight. The leather remembers the shape. Your foot finds it later.
